Another little professional milestone: CSCS PQP

This month I finally ticked another little professional goal off my list - completing the CIC Health & Safety training and exam and applying for my CSCS Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card 👷‍♀️

The CIC course covers 6x modules focused on working safely within the construction industry, including health and safety law, occupational health, general safety, high-risk activities, site safety and environmental awareness, followed by the final assessment.

The PQP card is available to professionally qualified members of certain recognised bodies within the construction and built environment industries - including RIBA for architects and BIID for interior designers, alongside other construction professionals.

As a BIID Registered Interior Designer® I’m eligible for the Professionally Qualified Person card, which recognises both my professional qualification and the health & safety knowledge required when working on construction sites.

It’s one of the slightly less glamorous, behind-the-scenes parts of interior design, but an important one - particularly when my work involves site visits, installations and working alongside contractors and other trades.

The training also counts towards my CPD for the year, so another little box happily ticked ✔️ I was determined to get this one done this month!
